ABOUT TSMU
The University was solemnly opened on 8th of February, 1918 (old style 26th of January), the day of remembrance of the Georgian King David the Builder. Since that, this day remains one of the most significant events in the history of the nation.
During the 80 years long history of the University in different periods of time were founded and functioning the following faculties:
Paediatrics (since 1931), Stomatology (since 1936), Military Medicine (since 1993), Medical-Biology (since 1994), Psychosomatic medicine and Psychotherapy (since 1996).
To date Tbilisi State Medical University has five faculties:
Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Public health, Physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Tbilisi State Medical University runs four Higher Education
Programs: General Practice Nurse, Midwifery, Medical Devices Technician, and Pharmacy Technician.
By 2007, the faculty of Therapeutic Physical Training and Rehabilitation of the State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport joined TSMU.
To this highly significant union was supplemented by competition for engagement in academic positions conducted in 2006 and 2007. Asa result of the last competition there are 371 academic personnel: fullprofessors, associate professors and assistant professors in TSMU. Besides them, 350 invited teachers are involved in academic process.
Tbilisi State Medical University collaborates with more than 40 Universities and centers; international scientific cooperation instigated to launch of numerous joint projects of International or National significance.
Nowadays TSMU has employed the highly intelligent, highly qualified pedagogical personnel and scientists. The University traditions, experience, reputation/authority and potential gives hope for its further successful development.

 - One Step Educational Program for Certified Stomatologist (English medium)
 
TUITION FEES
Faculty of Medicine:
English Medium – tuition fee: 8.000 USD per year;
US Medical Doctor Programme – Tuition fee for International students: 13500 US$ per year, for Georgian Citizens – 8000 GEL.
Faculty of Stomatology (Dentistry):
English medium – tuition fee: 7000 USD per year;
Faculty of Public Health:
Public Health and Management – Joint Georgian – French undergraduate program (Georgian Medium and English Medium): tuition fee – 4000 USD per year
Joint Georgian – French Master’s Program in “Public Health Management and Health Policy” – tuition fee 7000 USD per year.
Faculty of Pharmacy:
English Medium – tuition fee: 3500 USD per year;
Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:
English Medium – tuition fee: 3000 USD per year;
Preparatory Course – tuition fee: 1700 USD per year;
HOW TO APPLY
On the English and Russian medium programmes the admissions are twice per year:
- Registration of Applicants for Fall semester (study process will start on October 14, 2019)
 - Registration of Applicants for Spring semester (study process will start on March 2, 2020)
 
Registration is free, only on-site, by presenting the original passport and its Georgian translation.
In the frames of the contracts signed between TSMU and recruiting companies in India, Sri-Lanka, UAE, students can be selected locally by the TSMU recruiting companies after passing the qualifying test, conducted by the recruited agencies locally.
All international applicants are required to pass the Interview in order to determine the knowledge of the programme instruction language – at least B2 level. The video-recording will be uploaded to the University website and will be available to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATON
For School-graduates:
- The completed application form (should be filled in Georgian upon arrival);
 - 4 photos (3×4);
 - Copy of citizenship document: Passport or national identity card;
 - Copy of document identifying secondary general or equivalent education received abroad
 - Original document certifying that, the candidate has been receiving course of general education abroad, during last 2 years;
 
IMPORTANT
All documents should be translated into Georgian and properly notarized. Application with missing documents will not be accepted.
