ABOUT US
Today, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is a classic research-type university, a leading modern scientific and educational center of Ukraine. In the conditions of development of an independent Ukrainian state, the university faced new responsible tasks. Future professionals should be characterized by deep professional knowledge and the ability to think creatively, an awareness of tremendous responsibility for the cause and a willingness to work as a facilitator.
The University trains specialists in the educational and qualification levels of “Junior Specialist", “Bachelor", “Master" and personnel of higher qualification in postgraduate and doctoral studies. The training and retraining of specialists is carried out in 14 specialties of the Junior Specialist, 79 specialties of the Bachelor of Science and 73 specialties of the Master’s degree. 26,000 students are overwhelming them. 1645 graduate students and 125 doctoral students receive higher qualification at the university.
The university has 13 faculties, 8 educational institutes, 1 educational and scientific center, preparatory department, Center for Ukrainian Studies, Geological and Zoological Museums, Museum of University History, Inter-Faculty Linguistic Museum, Information and Computing Center, Astronomical Observatory Library, Publishing Center
More than 350 doctoral and PhD theses are held annually at the University. The teaching process is provided by 204 departments. The scientific potential of Kyiv University today is more than 60 full members and corresponding members of the National Academies of Sciences of Ukraine, 626 doctors of sciences, 1697 candidates of sciences.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION
To enter the preparatory department and the bachelor’s degree:
- Application Form
 - questionnaire;
 - Passport with a visa entry visa issued by consular institutions of Ukraine abroad on the basis of invitations to study,
 - Birth Certificate (original and 2 copies of Ukrainian translation and notarization);
 - Document on Education (full secondary education) (original and 2 copies with Ukrainian translation and notarization);
 - Supplement to the document on the education received (list of completed subjects) (original and 2 copies with translation into Ukrainian and notarization);
 - Medical Document (health certificate) certified by the official health authority of the country from which the foreigner arrived, issued no earlier than two months before the departure of the foreigner for study in Ukraine: the document must contain information on the results of the fluorographic HIV screening and analysis (2 copies of the original document and 2 copies of the Ukrainian translation);
 - 12 Photos 3×4 cm in size, matt;
 - Consent to the collection and processing of personal data;
 - Contract of liability insurance for reimbursement of expenses related to the execution of the decision on administrative expulsion outside Ukraine (deportation).
 
* All documents issued in foreign countries must be translated into Ukrainian with a notarized translation certificate in Ukraine.
* The originals of the passport, birth certificate, education document, residence document and tax authorities are checked when submitting the documents. Medical documents are submitted in the original.
