ABOUT ODESSA

September 1900, A significant event took place in the life of Odessa, which left a prominent mark in the history of medical education of Ukraine and for many years determined its perspective – the Faculty of Medicine of Novorossiysk University was opened.

During the years of existence of an independent Ukraine our university has become one of the leading medical universities of the IV level of accreditation. It is a member of the International and European Association of Universities. Today, about 10,000 students and cadets are studying at seven faculties and 66 departments of the university, 4,000 of them are citizens of 52 foreign countries. Foreign students are taught in Russian, Ukrainian and English. Postgraduate education is provided by 250 graduate students, trainees, masters and clinicians.

The teaching staff consists of 144 doctors of sciences – professors and 410 candidates of science – associate professors. Among them are academics of state and sectorial academies, 42 members of foreign academies, 39 honored scientists of science and technology, honored doctors and workers of national education, 10 laureates of state and other prestigious international awards.
